Eco-Impact Media Day: Young People Brought Sustainability Messages to the Digital World

The fifth day of the Erasmus+ Youth Exchange project, hosted by Kastamonu Kalkınma Sağlık Çevre Eğitim ve Turizm Vakfı, was dedicated to dissemination activities and digital content creation. Participants from Türkiye, Georgia, Germany, Austria, and Denmark came together for the “Eco-Impact Media Day” activity, aiming to share the knowledge and experiences they had gained throughout the project with a wider audience. Throughout the day, themes such as sustainability, recycling, and environmental awareness were transformed into engaging digital content designed to reach communities beyond the project itself.

During the morning sessions, participants were divided into working groups to create videos, social media posts, blog articles, and infographics. Each team used creative approaches to communicate the lessons learned during the project and highlight the importance of environmentally friendly lifestyles. This process not only enhanced participants’ digital skills but also strengthened their ability to develop meaningful and impactful sustainability messages.

As the day continued, participants shared their content online using a common project hashtag, increasing the visibility of the project’s outcomes. They also reached out to local media outlets, schools, and civil society organizations to ensure that the project’s environmental messages reached a broader audience. Through vlogs, short videos, and digital storytelling, participants shared their personal experiences and reflections, making sustainability topics more relatable, engaging, and memorable.

The activity also incorporated a peer-learning approach, encouraging participants to work in small teams, review each other’s content, provide feedback, and exchange creative ideas. The day concluded with a live online session where participants shared their project experiences and answered questions from the audience. As GrüneInitiative Verein, we believe that this productive day, which empowered young people to spread environmental awareness through digital tools, will contribute to creating a lasting impact and promoting sustainable lifestyles within the wider community.
